Please excuse me for not writing anything except movie reviews for so long. I am just a soft target of super-cool movies that rolled in the nearest cinema halls recently. So here it goes…
Very recently removing some time out from my busy schedule, I was glancing through the boring newspapers early morning. Snippets stated Pooja Misra slapped and abused her housemate, Team Anna is still at some corner of India fighting for votes or justice do not remember clearly, The rates of petrol are rising at a rapid speed (Thank god I do not own any kind of vehicle), and of course how can I miss this? Rickshawallas, Taxiwalas, Buswalas, Bhajiwalas… Err… No, except the Bhajiwalas everybody was having a party of their lifetime i.e. going on a strike every other day. Now I leave it up to you guys, tell me, would you even want to glance through such unpleasant and monotonous stories?

But to my surprise the news headline had something else to say, something different, I would say it was more tantalizing. It read “Long Live Reuben and Kennan. Eve Teasing Fighters”. A hot cup of coffee in my hand, I began reading further that how they fought against a mob that was harassing their friend Priyanka Fernandes outside Amboli Bar and Kitchen. The part which was frivolous was to read that they were killed in the altercation, a definite murder. It irked me; it gave me goosebumps, it made me feel completely handicapped for the first time. But like the other on-lookers who witnessed the entire murder through their very own naked eyes and remained unmoved, I realized I was no different. What struck me hard was the question “Can my sister, friend, girlfriend hinder around the city whenever they wish to?” I am still finding hard to get answers.
Like any other Human-Being, I neglected the fact that something like this has ever happened and erased the story completely out of my mind like many of us do very plainly. Few days later, the daily covers an article, a study rather, which suggested that Indian men are more sexually aroused as compared to other men in the world. It also stated some facts and figures of the number of rape cases arguably high, and other stats about sexually assaulting the women. Hmmm… That’s a hell lot of hornyness in us (Men of India). I seriously wonder the source which instigates to heighten our sex steroids (hormones). What is it that gets into us seeing an idle woman on the road in the wee hours? What is it that forces us to randomly hold any girl we find attractive and just start humping her? These questions still continue to run in my mind, no way are they willingly getting erased. This mind seeks some questions, why are we horny?
Through my hypothesis, I narrowed it down to this:-
1) Influence from the western culture.
2) Hafiz and Ahmed Bhai are really selling the dough (Blue-Print cds) for cheap.
3) The sexual content viewed in Bollywood
Umm…. Seriously, I cannot think more. It is still difficult for me to jot down certain points. But in the end we (men of India) must not forget that we do come from a women’s womb and the next time you hear a rape or a murder case, hope it does not have your sister, mother or girl-friend as the victim.
Hope most of them read this blog and some of them MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
